The Blocks
Basically there are two separate buildings that are considered the Utah County Jail. "The Blocks" is the term used to refer to the main housing area where regular employees are incarcerated. This area is refered to by some as "general population," though that is a term mostly used by people who don't know very much about the happenings of the jail.
The Blocks includes booking, Alta, Sundance, Snowbird and Solitude for men and Brighton for women.
The other section of the jail is The Annex which is used to house men in the work release and jail industries programs.
