Standard Issue Clothing
Men
When most people think of jail (or prison) they picture either bright orange jumpsuits or black and white stripes. If you are a guy at the Utah County Jail you may be disappointed - you will receive a few of two-piece pairs of blue scrubs (like doctors wear), underwear (briefs) and orange sandals. If you are lucky you will also be able to get a long-sleeved thermal shirt - these are in short supply so try to be quick when they call for laundry.
This will be your wardrobe as long as you are in "the blocks" - the regular part of the jail. If you are fortunate enough to get work release or you earn a spot in the Jail Industries program you will live in a separate building where you are allowed to wear your own clothing (with the exception of shoes, you are required to wear sandals in the annex, also).
Women
Women wear bright orange jumpsuits (just like the ones you see on television). Unfortunately even women in the work release program or Jail Industries have to change into their orange jumpsuits every night.
